Salary: £48,000 - £58,000, depending on experience

We offer comprehensive expertise across various design and construction management disciplines, including Engineering, Architecture, and building maintenance. We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to enhance our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving and executing projects within the discipline, overseeing both technical and commercial aspects of significant projects, while providing inspiring leadership to your team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering planned work programs and projects within established timelines and budgets.
  • Addressing client requirements, defining technical specifications, managing costs, fees, and commercial obligations to ensure project satisfaction.
  • Assisting the department Director in overseeing engineering resources within the Structural Engineering team.
  • Supporting business development initiatives to enhance and diversify engineering capabilities.
  • Implementing best practices within the Structural Engineering team.
  • Leading major projects to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Preparing designs, calculations, specifications, and drawings, as well as conducting risk assessments for improvement, refurbishment, and new building schemes, including the preparation of tender documents and supervising projects to completion.
  • Creating schedules for dilapidations, improvement schemes, drawings, specifications, structural surveys, and insurance reinstatement schemes.
  • Responding to urgent requests regarding hazardous buildings and providing advice during incidents.
  • Offering guidance to clients on construction and refurbishment projects while actively promoting surveying services on a fee-paying basis.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

To maintain our high standards of service delivery, candidates should possess a blend of commercial experience, professional training, and industry knowledge, evidenced by the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a Structural Engineering-related field.
  • Professional membership with the Institute of Structural Engineers and a commitment to achieving Chartered status.
  • A current site card or willingness to obtain one promptly.
  • Familiarity with Health and Safety legislation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
  • Awareness of relevant construction, health, and safety legislation, including risks associated with asbestos.

We provide access to specialized design tools (including CAD, Revit, Robot & Tekla) to ensure project specifications are met, and familiarity with these or similar tools is essential.
