Job Summary:

The Store Manager Designate is a key leadership role within Heron Foods, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a store. This position requires a strong leader who can motivate and manage a team to achieve sales targets and maintain high levels of customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of retail staff, including recruiting, training, and appraising employees
  • Ensure the availability of stock and oversee pricing and efficient stock control
  • Respond to customer queries and complaints, maintaining high levels of customer service
  • Control wage costs and protect company assets
  • Maintain an outstanding store condition, ensuring cleanliness, health and safety legislation, and visual merchandising standards
  • Maximise profitability, meet sales targets, and motivate staff to do so
  • Take personal responsibility for managing the store

Requirements:

  • Previous success in a similar Store Manager role, preferably in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Experience in leading, managing, and motivating a team, and setting an enthusiastic example
  • An honest and energetic personality, organised and responsive
  • Tenacity and enthusiasm, with an enjoyment of working in a busy and sometimes demanding environment
