About the Role

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Business Partner to join its Air Command Finance team. As a trusted advisor to senior RAF commanders, you will play a critical role in providing strategic financial guidance to inform decision-making and drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and provide strategic direction for your team, driving high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Act as an expert partner to senior RAF commanders, providing financial insights and advice to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Support budget holders in developing and implementing financial plans, ensuring alignment with Defence's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Engage with stakeholders to assure business cases and support Accounting Officer assessments, ensuring regularity, propriety, feasibility, and value for money.
  • Maintain a flexible approach to work, ensuring team outputs are produced to time and quality.
  • Build and maintain technical knowledge of good practice across Finance, driving process automation and eliminating manual activities where possible.
Requirements
  • Extensive accountancy and financial management experience, including a professional accountancy qualification (CCAB, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work in a culture of change and adapt to priorities as needed.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including senior RAF commanders and budget holders.
