Community Engagement Coordinator - Plasma

Position Overview

This newly established position is vital for our ongoing success in collecting Plasma donations. Your contributions will be essential in facilitating significant Community Engagement initiatives for NHS Blood and Transplant, ultimately saving and enhancing lives.

As a Community Engagement Coordinator - Plasma, your role will focus on expanding our network of Plasma donors at our dedicated Plasma Donor Centres. With your strong communication skills, you will educate the public about the necessity of Plasma, its crucial applications, and the simplicity of the donation process. You will engage with potential donors across various settings, from corporate environments to educational institutions, inspiring them to join our cause. Building meaningful relationships swiftly, both within the organization and with external partners, will be key to maintaining a robust activity plan in this essential area of work. Additionally, your organizational abilities will be utilized to coordinate and execute events in collaboration with our skilled events team.

Your weekly schedule in this dynamic hybrid role will involve a blend of remote work, on-site activities at NHSBT centres, and community outreach efforts.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will assist in strategizing for new donor recruitment, raising awareness, and educating the public about Plasma. Your tasks will include:

  • Planning and executing outreach and awareness initiatives, including community events and direct engagement with donors at Plasma Donation Centres.
  • Identifying and approaching new business partnerships as outlined in collaboration with your supervisor and aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Establishing and nurturing relationships with key third-sector and corporate entities in the region.
  • Managing these relationships to maximize benefits for NHSBT.
  • Keeping the Relationship Management database updated and accurate.
  • Advocating for organ donation and other donation forms as appropriate.

Candidate Profile

Experience and Expertise

  • Background in a marketing-related role with demonstrated positive outcomes for customers.
  • Solid understanding of essential communication channels, including social media, print media, digital communication, and email, along with their advantages and challenges.
  • A proven track record of achieving positive results.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint).

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience at a degree level.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development (CPD).
