Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their learning and development.

About the Role

This is a temporary position, with the option to become permanent in the future. You will be working in a Secondary School in Bedford, supporting students with their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teachers in preparing lesson materials and setting up classrooms
  • Work with students on a 1:1 or small group basis, supporting their learning and development
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents
  • Provide emotional support to students who are upset or unwell
  • Lead classes with the support of the teacher
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a school setting is advantageous
  • Friendly, confident, and calm attitude
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults
  • Ability to adapt to working with students with vulnerable backgrounds
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education
  • Passion for helping students succeed academically, emotionally, and socially
  • Ability to engage well with students and provide a calming presence
  • Dedication to ensuring all students achieve their best
