We are looking for a dedicated Service Engineer to become a key member of our dynamic team at Universal Business Team. As a Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our operations within the water sector. Your responsibilities will include responding to maintenance, repair, and commissioning requests across the Midlands region of England. A solid understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide outstanding customer service through comprehensive product and technical expertise, enhancing our brand reputation.
  • Install, commission, service, and repair pumps, pumping systems, and related mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct scheduled site visits as directed by the service manager, delivering thorough reports and actionable recommendations.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs, executing necessary repairs while maintaining effective communication with the team.
  • Prioritize safety by developing detailed risk assessments and method statements.
  • Exhibit professionalism and diligence, focusing on customer satisfaction and exceptional service delivery.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on wastewater systems, identifying and rectifying faults.
  • Document work comprehensively, manage tasks efficiently, and keep schedulers informed of progress.
  • Stay updated with company policies and procedures, ensuring vehicle cleanliness and appropriate stock levels.
  • Participate in the on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support.
Qualifications:
  • Technical expertise in water boosting technology and packaged pump stations.
  • Experience in the pump industry or related construction roles.
  • Confined Space Entry Qualification.
  • Current CSCS qualification.
  • Some electrical training is preferred.
  • Self-driven with a proactive attitude and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Emergency First Aid at Work Qualification.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and email).
  • Proficiency in IT is advantageous.
