Role Summary

The primary objective of this role is to facilitate the efficient operation of the new manufacturing facility by addressing equipment failures, executing maintenance tasks, and enhancing site services related to new machinery, sanitation, quality assurance, and overall performance.

Key Duties

  • Perform comprehensive maintenance across site services and facilities.
  • Respond to equipment malfunctions on-site to minimize downtime of plant and machinery.
  • Conduct repairs on machinery and equipment during production cycles.
  • Implement planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on-site.
  • Execute daily inspections of all site services.
  • Oversee core facility and utility services, including steam boilers and associated piping, air compressors, water treatment systems, CIP room inspections, effluent treatment plants, ammonia plant rooms, refrigeration systems, water softeners, and water pumps to ensure compliance and optimal functionality.
  • Achieve plant uptime and maintenance KPIs through strategic, preventative, and predictive maintenance while enhancing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
  • Ensure all chemical and bacterial assessments of cooling tower water are conducted according to the internal schedule.

Candidate Profile:

  • A minimum of three years of engineering experience.
  • Multi-skilled with a formal engineering qualification at NVQ Level 3 or higher in electrical or mechanical disciplines, or a nationally recognized apprenticeship in an engineering field.

· Hold 17th or 18th Edition Certification.

  • Demonstrated experience in the food production sector.
  • Possess certification in steam utilization and boiler house operations.
  • Trained in Health and Safety and Basic Food Hygiene.
  • Experience in overseeing contractors on-site.
  • Exhibit a proactive approach to troubleshooting and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office and a PPM system.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and manuals.
