Commercial Contracts Specialist

The Commercial Contracts Specialist will take full responsibility for the contract function within ExcelRedstone. This role primarily involves reviewing and providing guidance on construction contracts before signing and offering delay and prolongation advice as projects are completed.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all contracts entering and leaving the business. Review contracts for potentially unfavorable conditions and resolve contract disputes with project teams.
  • Support project teams with acceleration claims.
  • Assist project teams in preventing and managing delay and disruption issues. Support the business with delay and disruption claims as they arise.
  • Resolve disputes or conflicts between transacting parties.
  • Support the delivery team with complex final account negotiations.
  • Provide support to project teams on large commercial projects, when required.
  • Assist the business in developing and implementing documents to mitigate risk.
  • Conduct training for the delivery team to educate them on contract management best practices.
Qualifications:

We are seeking a highly experienced individual with a strong background in Quantity Surveying and/or Commercial Management.

  • Extensive legal knowledge of construction contracts is essential.
  • Proven experience dealing with direct clients, external consultants, main construction contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Experience handling Extension of Time claims, cost build-ups, analysis, tendering processes, variation costing, managing client QS and clients, Prime Cost Targets & Cost Value Reconciliations.
  • A good understanding of construction methods and materials is required.
