The Senior Commercial Contracts Specialist plays a pivotal role in providing strategic financial guidance and in-depth commercial and contract analysis to assigned business unit client groups. As a senior leader in the Commercial segment, you will be required to build capability and drive a high-performance culture within your function that effectively contributes to achieving strategic and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Draft, collate, brief, review, and obtain approvals for commercial and contract negotiations, and contract variations to Telstra's standard agreements and bespoke customer contracts.
- Analyze complex commercial-related contract positions that deviate from the company's standard position and/or terms and agreements, balancing risk tolerance while driving profitable growth.
- Act as a trusted advisor in handling contract and commercial queries, facilitating the resolution of issues by applying professional judgment, concepts, procedures, and effective engagement of the appropriate stakeholders.
- Contract Management of strategic accounts, including:
- Maximizing contract value, minimizing margin leakage & scope creep, and identifying opportunities to cross/up-sell services.
- Managing contract risk, including advising on risk mitigation strategies and consequences of failure to comply with commitments during the contract lifecycle.
- Provide advice, counsel, and recommendations on commercial and contractual matters, and contract interpretation.
- Build strong and effective relationships with internal operational stakeholders (including Sales, Legal, Project Delivery, Service Management, Business Operations, and Pricing) to support the management of contract deliverables, risks, and obligations.
- Recommend and support initiatives to implement best practices in commercial & contract management and drive standardization across regions.
- Other duties as may be assigned in relation to Commercial Contract Management.
