Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Adult Social Care Specialist


Job Type: Temporary (37 hours per week, initially 3 months with potential extension to 6 months)


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team on a temporary basis. This role requires a commitment of 37 hours per week and involves working with adults, their carers, and families within the community.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centered care to adults with complex health needs, learning disabilities, and other challenges.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, including safeguarding, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide proportionate, personalized, safe, and sustainable responses.
  • Utilize knowledge and experience of equipment, adaptation solutions, and Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) provisions to support individuals in achieving their goals.
  • Engage with inter-agency and multidisciplinary approaches across the organization and other statutory bodies to ensure seamless care delivery.


About You:

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Be a registered Occupational Therapist with experience in a Local Authority setting.
  • Demonstrate expertise in person-centered, holistic, and strengths-based practices.
  • Have experience assessing daily living activities and understanding the impact of physical, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions on occupational performance.
  • Possess strong communication and relationship-building skills with professionals and partner agencies.
  • Have excellent time management skills, personal resilience, and a positive approach to risk-taking.
  • Be a reflective practitioner committed to ongoing professional development.


Requirements:

  • HCPC registration
  • Experience in a Local Authority setting
  • Knowledge of person-centered, holistic, and strengths-based practices
  • Experience assessing daily living activities
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent time management skills
