Opportunity for a Cardiology Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiology Specialist with a focus on Electrophysiology to join our team at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will support the cardiac pacing service and provide general cardiology and electrophysiology clinics, in-reach services, and cover for inpatient care on the cardiology ward.
Main Responsibilities- Support the cardiac pacing service and contribute to the development of complex pacing services on site.
- Provide arrhythmia and general cardiology clinics at Kingston Hospital.
- Offer inpatient care on the cardiology ward and cardiology in-reach services.
- Participate in plans to deliver a future seven-day cardiology service.
- Background in general cardiology with subspecialty qualification in cardiac electrophysiology.
- Experience in simple and complex cardiac device implantation.
- Diagnostic cardiac catheterization skills.
- Commitment to quality improvement using audit and clinical outcomes.
The Cardiology department at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has expanded rapidly in recent years, providing a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic inpatient and outpatient cardiology services. We are committed to delivering high-quality cardiology care locally.
Person Specification- MRCP or equivalent.
- CCT in Cardiology.
- On GMC's Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT from the date of interview.
- MD/PhD or MSc (desirable).
- Extensive experience in general Cardiology and simple and complex cardiac device implantation.
- Cardiac electrophysiology experience (desirable).
- Diagnostic cardiac catheterization skills.
- Evidence of quality improvement using audit and clinical outcomes.
- Experience in service development (desirable).
- Management training course (essential).
- Knowledge of finance/budgets.
- Demonstrable commitment and ability to teach and train undergraduates and junior doctors.
- Experience of clinical audit and research.
- Experience in supervising medical trainees (desirable).
- Leadership skills within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to motivate staff and facilitate changes in clinical practice.
- Effective communication skills, enthusiasm, and approachability.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
- Enthusiasm for clinical governance.
