The Role

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at our Headquarters site in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing raw materials used in our manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase raw materials from a global supply base, ensuring compliance with quality and delivery requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and terms to achieve cost savings.
  • Manage purchase requisitions, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials to our manufacturing sites.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Identify and investigate potential alternative suppliers to reduce business risk and improve supply chain resilience.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve targeted year-on-year cost reductions.

Requirements

  • Experience in the automotive industry, with a strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of plastic and rubber parts, as well as technical understanding of manufacturing constraints.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office, with proficiency in procurement software and systems.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with global suppliers and stakeholders.
