Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Floating Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our community outreach program, you will work closely with service users to provide tailored support and guidance, empowering them to maintain their tenancies and achieve positive life changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of service users, providing regular check-ins and support to ensure their needs are met.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with local community agencies and resources, including housing providers, training and educational institutions.
  • Collaborate with Recovery Coordinators to support service users in accessing housing and maintaining their tenancies.
  • Identify and proactively support access to a comprehensive range of resources to support recovery within the community.
  • Provide outreach support and guidance, empowering individuals to make positive life choices and maintain their independence.
  • Advocate for individuals in a multi-agency setting where needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 months experience in facilitating successful tenancy sustainment and working to achieve positive community connections.
  • Knowledge of local Registered Social Landlords and tenancy issues that affect our service user group.
  • Knowledge of local services and relevant interventions to support and sustain recovery, particularly related to training and education.
  • Knowledge of benefits and applying for benefits in a supportive role.
  • A clear understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and boundaries, as well as knowledge of referral pathways for safeguarding concerns.
  • Ability to motivate and empower service users to engage in their recovery and make alternative life choices.
  • Experience of providing outreach support and delivering person-centered care.
  • Experience of effective partnership working.
