Job Title: Sonographer (Bank)

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Sonographer to join our team on a bank basis. As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound scans to high technical and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the efficient and safe operation of the Imaging Department, providing a consistent, high-quality ultrasound service to all patients.
  • Carry out diagnostic ultrasound scans within your scope of competence as agreed with the Clinical Services Manager - Imaging / Clinical Lead.
  • Manage the designated working area and ensure it is tidy, clean, and efficiently run.
  • Use initiative to prioritize, deliver, and time-manage workload effectively.
  • Assist clinical modality leads to plan and maintain an effective workflow within the department.
  • Ensure that sonography examination results meet the clinic standard for quality assurance before findings are released for interpretation.
  • Function as a technical or clinical leader/expert in sonography.
  • Accountable for the creation, oversight, and implementation of scanning protocols and quality control activities.
  • Provide technical, image quality, and accuracy oversight for the assessment of sonography examinations.
  • Ensure that appropriate accreditation is secured and maintained.
  • Carry out quality assurance protocols and quality improvement measures.
  • Pursue and maintain cutting-edge technical and clinical updates.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with co-workers, administrators, and other members of the external healthcare providers.
  • Responsible for day-to-day operation of sonography services within the clinic.

Requirements:

  • Current HCPC Registration.
  • Minimum 2 years Ultrasound experience within the NHS.
  • Experience in performing/reporting the following sonographic examinations: Abdominal, Renal, Gynaecology, (Transvaginal, Transabdominal).
  • Experience in Gynae required.
