Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Warehouse Operations Assistant to join our team at NHS Scotland. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day activities of our store, ensuring the smooth processing of requests, receipt, issue, storage, and dispatch of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring accurate inventory management and timely delivery.
  • Perform a range of warehousing duties, including receiving, storing, and issuing stock, as well as maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve operational goals and objectives, maintaining a positive and supportive attitude.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of stock control principles, ensuring accurate and efficient inventory management.
  • Utilize computerized stock inventory and e-Procurement systems to manage inventory, track orders, and process transactions.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with industry best practices and company policies.
Requirements
  • Recent experience (within the last 6 months) in a busy store or warehouse environment, with a strong understanding of inventory management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy loads, with a good level of physical fitness and stamina.
  • Proficiency in the use of moving and handling equipment, such as pallet trucks.
  • Basic education, particularly literacy and numeracy, with a good standard of computer skills and familiarity with MS Office applications.
