Role Overview

We are seeking a

Medical Communications Manager - Experienced to Senior Level

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulating outlines and frameworks for medical education initiatives, encompassing in-person events, digital formats, and enduring educational materials.
  • Leading the development of strategic communication plans, project proposals, and pitches aimed at securing new business opportunities.
  • Collaborating with leading medical experts to produce content for medical communication and education projects, including presentations and supplementary materials.
  • Overseeing project management, ensuring effective prioritization, return on investment, and appropriate delegation for medical education and communication projects within designated therapeutic areas, maintaining accuracy, quality, and adherence to timelines.
  • Conducting project calls with pharmaceutical and biotech clients, aligning on project scope and content direction, including preparation for meetings.
  • Providing direction and mentorship when assigning projects to internal and external medical writers, editors, and studio personnel, ensuring consistent quality and alignment with scientific objectives.
  • Coaching and developing junior team members to facilitate their professional growth.
  • Supporting client team meetings and contributing to the development of medical education and communication strategies.
  • Effectively communicating project status and changes to internal and external stakeholders, offering recommendations for achieving desired outcomes.
  • Leading troubleshooting efforts during project execution.

Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications

  • A PhD in life sciences, MD, PharmD, or a biomedical MSc, accompanied by relevant professional experience.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and apply knowledge in previously unfamiliar therapeutic areas.
  • Experience in crafting compelling narratives from research data.
  • Capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
  • Resilience under pressure and adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • A strong interest in mentoring and coaching junior team members.
  • Strategic thinking capabilities coupled with robust analytical skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
  • Excellent command of the English language with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
