Job Summary

As a Construction Site Superintendent with Manorcore Construction Inc., you will be responsible for effectively controlling all work on the project job site to ensure that the project is constructed in close conformity with the plans and specifications. You will ensure that methods used are safe, efficient, economical, expedient, and of high quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be thoroughly familiar with and understand project documentation, including specifications, project drawings, and schedules.
  • Navigate basic computer programs, email, and construction applications.
  • Effectively communicate orally with all members of the construction team and negotiate and resolve any conflicts that may arise.
  • Plan and supervise the set-up of temporary field facilities, such as power, offices, construction roads, etc.
  • Be proactive in all aspects of construction requirements, adapting to changes as they apply to each project.
  • Supervise, check, and/or perform the surveying and layout required for the construction of all portions of the project.
  • Ensure the proper completion of office work, including cost coding of all delivery slips, extra work orders, and implementation of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Schedule all on-site activity with sub-contractors and suppliers to effectively manage each project.
  • Expedite the delivery of all materials for own work and major materials for all sub-contractors.
  • Be constantly alert to protect the interests of the company by paying close attention to details of construction.
  • Attend bi-weekly or as directed job meetings with architect and/or owner.
  • Chair weekly meetings of all trades to plan and monitor progress of the project on a weekly basis.
  • Be responsible for security of a project, including all materials, equipment, and tools.
Requirements
  • Construction supervision experience.
  • Ability to navigate basic computer programs, email, and construction applications.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to plan and supervise the set-up of temporary field facilities.
  • Proactive approach to construction requirements.
  • Ability to supervise, check, and/or perform surveying and layout.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Ability to schedule and expedite project activity.
Work Environment

Monday to Friday; Weekends as needed.
