Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Overnight Care Assistant to join our team at Peters Dean Care Ltd. This role is essential in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people during the night hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster a caring and supportive atmosphere where children and young people feel secure and protected.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with young individuals, offering them consistent and affirmative support.
  • Encourage self-regulation in young people by addressing inappropriate behavior and recognizing positive actions.
  • Adhere to and update each young person's care plan to reflect their evolving needs.
  • Manage practical childcare tasks, including meal preparation, cleaning, and general upkeep of the home and garden.
  • Assist the Registered Care Manager in overseeing the home in alignment with its objectives.
  • Respect and affirm the diverse racial, cultural, and religious identities of the young people in our care.
  • Provide individualized support to help young people navigate their challenges.
  • Inspire young individuals to pursue their aspirations and reach their full potential.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and prepare reports for planning meetings and reviews as required.
  • Offer emotional support during challenging times.
  • Encourage community engagement and participation in off-site activities to broaden social networks.

  • Create a safe and supportive environment for young people.
  • Exercise appropriate supervision based on the needs of the young individuals.
  • Promote cleanliness and organization within the home and gardens.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company policies.
  • Address the emotional, spiritual, physical, intellectual, cultural, and social needs of the young people.
  • Report incidents to the management team and ensure smooth transitions between shifts.
  • Participate in staff meetings and supervision sessions.
  • Complete mandatory training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility in working hours, including overnight shifts and weekends on a rotational basis.

Qualifications

Previous experience in managing challenging behavior, particularly with young people, is essential for this role.
