The Role:

As a Specialized Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in our educational team, facilitating the academic and personal growth of our students. Your primary responsibilities will encompass:

  • Delivering tailored support to students with PMLD, ensuring their comprehensive physical, emotional, and educational needs are addressed.
  • Collaborating with the class teacher to design and implement individualized learning experiences.
  • Assisting students with personal care requirements, including feeding, toileting, and mobility support.
  • Tracking and recording students' progress while working in partnership with the SENCO and educational staff.
  • Engaging with other professionals, such as therapists and healthcare providers, to offer holistic assistance to students.

Requirements:

  • Experience in supporting children or young people with PMLD is essential.
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic demeanor, complemented by strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to establish trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are preferred but not mandatory.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a readiness to pursue further training as necessary.
