About the Role
We are seeking an experienced life insurance professional or recently qualified actuary to join our Actuarial Department in the role of Development Actuary (With-Profits). As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development of our financial management approach, with a focus on the with-profits funds.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the ongoing activity relating to the financial management of the with-profits fund, including strategic initiatives, run-off plans, and financial management frameworks.
- Develop and maintain policies for with-profits miscellaneous surplus distribution and excess surplus distribution.
- Collaborate with other departments, including IT, Pricing, and Risk, to ensure efficient management of the with-profits funds.
- Attend Executive and Board level committees as required.
- Support the actuarial function and With-Profits Actuary in developing our approach to operating the with-profits funds.
Requirements
- Experience in life insurance, with a strong working knowledge of with-profits and their operations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with senior stakeholders.
- RAFM modelling and SQL experience preferred, but not essential.
