Location: Colwyn Bay
Dalkia Engineering is seeking a qualified A55 Tunnel Supervisor to oversee our specialized operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing scheduled tunnel road closures, which occur on a monthly basis, and will involve pre-tunnel meetings with clients as well as supervising various subcontracted labor forces.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the most efficient and effective configurations for tunnel electrical installations, coupled with the capability to maintain high productivity levels in their area of responsibility. A solid grasp of the National Working Rules for the Electrical Contracting Industry, the current IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671), the Electricity at Work Regulations, and relevant British Standards and Codes of Practice is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in daily communication with client site management.
- Ensure the suitability and availability of plant equipment.
- Provide daily updates to the site maintenance team and Fault coordinator.
- Adapt to working shift patterns that align with contract needs.
- Champion health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and conduct Shift Briefings.
Essential Qualifications
- Must meet the criteria for the grade of Approved Electrician.
- A minimum of five years' experience as an Approved Electrician prior to applying for this role.
- Possession of a higher technical qualification such as the City & Guilds 'C' Course Certificate or a Level 4 technical certificate in Building Services Engineering with an electrical installation focus (e.g., HNC or equivalent).
- Completion of a recognized BS7671 course in Design and Verification of Electrical Installations.
Categories of Technicians
- Site Technician: Requires at least three years in a supervisory role overseeing complex electrical installations.
- Installation Technician: Must demonstrate exceptional technical skills and experience beyond the standard expectations of an Approved Electrician.
