Key Responsibilities:
As the Electrical Systems Lead for the Cross-Functional team, you will provide technical guidance and expertise throughout the entire lifecycle of Electrical Systems for the Small Modular Reactor (SMR) nuclear power plant. You will be responsible for developing and overseeing a team of electrical engineers, establishing the work plan on various cross-functional topics.
The team's scope encompasses areas such as cable system design, electrical modularization, standardization, electrical layout, systems engineering, and management of the electrical load schedule, among others.
This role involves delivering the comprehensive design of the identified systems, covering system architecture, sub-system design, and equipment specification and selection to achieve the final verified design of the power station.
You will need to cultivate relationships and collaborate closely with engineering teams across the power station, applying a structured systems engineering methodology to design.
The position entails working across the entire lifecycle of Electrical systems, including both classified and non-classified applications.
To be successful in this role, you should have proven experience in electrical power engineering within a design capacity, particularly in the design of modular high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) distribution systems and cable systems.
A demonstrated history of managing the work of electrical or multidisciplinary designers is essential.
Familiarity with electrical design software for system analysis and cable system design is advantageous, along with practical experience.
Qualifications:
- Experience in developing electrical requirements to support HV and LV electrical architecture. Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including those for electrical components such as switchgear, transformers, and cabling, is preferred.
- While prior experience in the nuclear sector is not mandatory, a solid track record of working across the electrical system lifecycle in industries such as Defence, Aerospace, Rail, Automotive, or Oil & Gas is ideal. A degree in electrical engineering or a related field is preferred.
Performance-related bonus of up to 12%.
