About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Compliance Manager to join our team at Amazon EU SARL (UK Branch). This role will be responsible for leading and driving environmental operational excellence across our operations in the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute multi-site responsibilities to ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and permits, including air emissions, stormwater, waste, wastewater, and other environmental-related requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business partners to support their success in environmental compliance, performance, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Participate in the development, introduction, control, improvement, and application of environmental management control systems, procedures, processes, and products.
  • Measure and analyze sites' performance against published requirements in environmental policies.
  • Cooperate with regulatory agencies in permit applications and implementation of environmental law.
  • Participate in annual data collection and reporting, as well as controls on environmentally relevant issues.
  • Manage environmental risk programs and projects, defining and mitigating risks to bring them within tolerance levels.
  • Drive goal and regulation-based control outcomes and risk reduction, informing and helping to establish mechanisms to achieve this.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in serving as an environmental technical resource, program specialist, or program manager.
  • English written and verbal communication skills, including comfortable interfacing with site and regional leaders.
  • In-depth knowledge of EU, country, and region-specific environmental regulation.
  • Experience in engaging with regulatory agencies in permit applications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics.
  • Detailed-minded and technically-oriented to comfortably deep dive with engineering teams to understand operations processes for environmental risk assessment.
  • Experience managing change in multiple site environments and the ability to influence peers and superiors.
