About the Role:

Avara Foods, a leading food business, is seeking a highly competent and motivated Specification Technologist to join our Technical Team. As a Specification Technologist, you will be responsible for creating specifications for a range of customers, reviewing and approving artwork, and ensuring deadlines are met with consistent accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete finished product specifications and approve artwork in accordance with critical paths to facilitate successful product launches.
  • Work alongside Ingredients and Packaging Specifications Technologist to approve raw material and packaging specifications.
  • Work closely with NPD to integrate with the NPD launch process to ensure successful product launches.
  • Internal liaison and support for Site Technical and external liaison for retail customers.

Requirements:

  • Food related Further Education qualification.
  • Experience of writing food specifications with knowledge of major retailers' online specification systems and critical paths.
  • Experience of retailer artwork approval systems and in-depth knowledge of the Food Information for Consumers Regulation.
  • Excellent attention to detail while being able to organize workload to achieve key deadlines.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels.
  • Food related HND – Desirable.
  • Food labelling qualification – Desirable.
