About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and patient-focused rehabilitation service, supporting individuals in their own homes. As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing holistic assessments, specialist occupational therapy treatment, and management of patients, with a focus on rehabilitation and prevention of unnecessary hospital admissions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of patients with diverse or complex/multi-pathology presentations, including specialist functional assessments of cognitive, perceptual, sensory, and motor skills.
  • Formulate and deliver individualized, goal-oriented treatment programs based on evidence-based practice and treatment options.
  • Ensure a holistic approach to patient care and rehabilitation, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Organize and prioritize caseloads, adjusting plans as situations change or arise, and delegate duties to other team members as necessary.
  • Identify and mitigate work-related risks to staff and patients, informing senior staff as required.
Requirements
  • HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a relevant junior role, with evidence of additional knowledge acquired through formal and informal clinical supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team, presenting information clearly and logically, and organizing and prioritizing tasks.
