About the Role

Venesky Brown is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety and Compliance Specialist to join their team in a key role that will drive the company's health and safety agenda.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and review health and safety policies, procedures, and management systems to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practice.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate potential safety issues.
  • Provide advice and guidance to project teams on health and safety matters, including the safe use of equipment, PPE requirements, and emergency procedures.
  • Deliver health and safety training and induction programs for employees and subcontractors, ensuring that all personnel are adequately informed and trained to perform their duties safely.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, documenting findings and recommending preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, and other stakeholders on health and safety matters, representing the company's interests and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs), to senior management and project stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in occupational health and safety or a related field.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in occupational health and safety.
  • Thorough knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards applicable to the construction sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
