Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide individualized support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement tailored support plans to foster the development of children with ASD.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to create inclusive learning environments.
  • Liaise with other professionals to ensure effective support and communication.
  • Work closely with other support staff to provide a cohesive and supportive team environment.
  • Prepare and develop class displays to promote learning and engagement.
  • Keep up-to-date records of pupil progress and contribute to the child's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
  • Create a calm and supportive environment where learning can take place.
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Qualification in Teaching Assistant (L2/3).
  • Ability to engage with and build rapport with children and young people.
  • Comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviors.
  • Proactive and flexible in supporting style.
