About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Assistant to join our team at Sanctuary Supported Living. As a Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to our customers with mental health needs, enabling them to maximise their potential and live independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to encourage customers to develop their daily living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and shopping.
  • Encourage social inclusion and help customers build their confidence, resilience, and self-esteem.
  • Work with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of customers, actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required.
  • Maintain a safe environment for customers, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures, and practices.
Requirements
  • A caring and approachable nature, with a confident 'can-do' attitude.
  • Ability to keep accurate records and clearly communicate relevant information to team members.
  • Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with customers, families, and internal and external agencies.
  • Experience of working as a member of a team.
  • A positive and accepting approach to customers, whatever their needs.
  • Level 2 NVQ Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards.
