About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join our finance team at Mears Group PLC. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.

As a Senior Management Accountant, you will work closely with the Regional Finance Director to deliver high-quality management information and analysis, plans, and forecasts. You will also oversee junior accounting staff and provide finance support to non-finance staff in the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of financial management information for multiple branches and entities within the Group.
  • Analysis of financial and other data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Provision of clear information on risks and opportunities for branches and entities.
  • Development and management of management accountant direct reports.
  • Ownership of the preparation of financial management information from source data.
  • Assistance to regional finance teams and local operations in work-in-progress management, cash forecasting, and cash collection.
Requirements
  • Graduate with an accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships remotely with finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • Proficient in Excel and IT.
  • Good knowledge of accounting standards and ability to apply this knowledge to work situations.
