Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Farnham Park Health Group in a full-time role. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and committed Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Emergency Care Practitioner with experience of working in General Practice.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support GPs by delivering high-quality patient care using advanced autonomous/independent clinical skills.
  • Assist with same-day triage, assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients presenting with a wide range of acute illnesses.
  • Take part in the management and care of patients with long-term conditions.
  • Prescribe and review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patients' needs, and in accordance with evidence-based practice and national and practice-based protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide information and advice on prescribed over-the-counter medication and medication regimes, side effects, and interactions.
  • Maintain a flexible approach and work alongside and cohesively with other members of the clinical team.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Understanding of accountability to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and competencies of RCN and HEE Advanced Clinical Practice.
  • An understanding of safeguarding to Level 3.
  • Knowledge of national standards and NICE guidelines.
  • Ability to assess and manage patient risk effectively and safely.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage consultation time and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to analyze data and information.
  • IT skills.
Professional Role
  • Promote evidence-based practice through the use of the latest research-based guidelines.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of their clinical practice through quality assurance strategies such as the use of audit and peer reviews.
  • Maintain professional registration.
  • Participate in continuing professional development to ensure that up-to-date evidence-based knowledge and competence in all aspects of the job role are maintained.
  • Actively take part in mandatory and further training as required.
  • Work within the latest NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Take part in an annual appraisal review and revalidation.
