About the Role

Achieving for Children is seeking an experienced Family Group Conference Coordinator to join our team. As a Family Group Conference Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in facilitating meetings between family members and professionals to develop safe and sustainable solutions for children in need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrange and organize Family Group Conferences to bring family members and professionals together to discuss and develop plans for children's care.
  • Empower family members to make informed decisions about their children's care, while also providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Work closely with referrers and other professionals to prepare for conferences, including developing agendas and questions.
  • Facilitate the participation of children and young people in the conference process, ensuring their voices are heard and valued.
  • Provide mediation skills to help family members and professionals resolve differences and come to a consensus.

Requirements

  • FGC accreditation is essential.
  • Previous experience in arranging and completing Family Group Conferences is required.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Fostering Regulations, and National Minimum Standards.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills for assessing and reviewing foster carers and children's needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with family members, professionals, and children.
