Exciting Opportunity for a Deputy Manager in Residential Childcare

Barnardo's, the UK's largest Children's Charity, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our Leicestershire Residential Team. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality care and services to vulnerable children and young people.

About the Role

  • Build trust and develop nurturing relationships with service users, promoting their independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities.
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our service users.
  • Lead shifts and conduct staff supervisions to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
  • Support the Registered Manager with audits and other duties as required.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and other domestic duties.
  • Document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Promote, monitor, and maintain a safe environment for our service users.

About You

  • You hold a Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare.
  • You hold OR are willing to work towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's services.
  • You have at least 1 year supervisory and shift leader experience in a Children's Residential setting.
  • You have knowledge and experience of working with OFSTED Regulations and Quality Standards of Children's homes, with the ability to support the manager to achieve a rating of outstanding.
  • You have knowledge and experience of recording and reporting to enable safeguarding and protection of children & young people.
