Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Urban Planner to join our client's multidisciplinary team in the Northeast of England.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications for residential projects, conduct research and analysis on planning policies, regulations, and legislative requirements, and prepare planning reports, assessments, and recommendations for clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications for residential projects, ensuring compliance with planning regulations and project objectives.
- Conduct research and analysis on planning policies, regulations, and legislative requirements, providing expert advice to clients and stakeholders.
- Prepare planning reports, assessments, and recommendations for clients and stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
- Liaise with local authorities, councils, and other relevant agencies on planning matters, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other consultants to ensure compliance with planning regulations and project objectives.
- Participate in community engagement activities and public consultations as required, promoting sustainable urban development and design.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, or related field (RTPI accredited).
- A minimum of one year of professional experience in town planning, preferably with a focus on residential projects.
- A sound knowledge of planning legislation, regulations, and processes in Yorkshire.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A proactive and adaptable attitude, with a passion for sustainable urban development and design.
- An enjoyment of writing, with excellent language skills and ability to effectively communicate planning arguments.
