About the Role

We are looking for an Asset Management Coordinator to become a vital part of our Water Treatment Works team. This position offers a unique chance to contribute to the production of essential water services for our community.

This is a significant time for our Water Treatment Works, and the role carries substantial responsibility and opportunity for growth.

Utilizing your technical knowledge, you will oversee asset functionality, manage inventory of critical components, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. You will assist the operational team in diagnosing equipment issues, engaging external support when necessary to enhance performance and availability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance Planning & Compliance: Execute planned maintenance tasks efficiently while adhering to budgetary constraints and timelines; ensure compliance with statutory inspections and maintain updated management systems.
  • Health and Safety Leadership: Promote a culture of safety within the team and among contractors, supporting health and safety initiatives and acting as a deputy for the Controller of Premises.
  • Contractor Oversight: Foster a positive safety culture by implementing safe work practices, conducting risk assessments, and performing site audits.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of maintenance and timely completion of reactive tasks through a robust audit program and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Technical Coordination: Efficiently manage the technical workbench to prevent delays in maintenance operations, ensuring timely procurement of necessary equipment and critical spares.
  • Asset Resilience: Drive improvements in asset reliability and performance, leading technical solutions during both planned and emergency situations.
  • Financial Awareness: Contribute to budget management by delivering maintenance work that aligns with financial targets.
  • Efficiency Projects: Identify and implement projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and reducing unnecessary site visits.
  • Incident Resolution: Act as a key point of contact for troubleshooting operational challenges, ensuring adherence to safe working methods.
What You Bring
  • Desirable technical knowledge in Water or Waste Production, although candidates from other technical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in contractor management and procurement processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset.
  • Understanding of project management and business operations.
  • Able to mentor and share knowledge with team members.
  • Proficient in relevant IT systems and office software.
  • A valid UK Driving Licence is essential.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH certification is a plus, but training will be provided.
