About the Role

Merton Council is seeking a skilled CIL Collection Officer to join our Planning Contributions Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in the administration and collection of CIL for the Council.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Determine the amount of CIL payable by a development, ensuring accurate calculations and compliance with regulations.
  2. Grant CIL Exemptions to payment, exercising discretion and making informed decisions.
  3. Issue documentation, including Liability and Demand Notices, in a timely and efficient manner.
  4. Take appropriate enforcement action for non-compliance, working closely with colleagues and stakeholders.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require previous experience in a similar position or substantial experience in planning or property, with a focus on CIL. You must have a proven track record of interpreting and implementing legislation, with attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
