Senior Transport Planning Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Planner to join our team at Lancashire County Council. As a key member of our Transport Planning Service, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of transport in Lancashire.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, design, and deliver walking, cycling, bus, rail, and road schemes across the county.
- Work closely with other transport planners, engineers, and spatial and environmental planners to develop and implement transport strategies.
- Provide technical advice and support to projects, including transport modelling and data analysis.
- Manage and prioritize your own workload, with support from the Transport Planning Team Leader.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and framework consultants to deliver projects and achieve outcomes.
- Relevant bachelor's degree in a transport-related field (a transport-related MSc is desirable).
- At least 3 years of experience in the public or private sector, with a broad understanding of transport policies and guidance.
- Good working knowledge of transport planning software, including SATURN, Aimsun, VISSIM, LinSig, Junctions 9, and TEMPro.
- Experience with microsimulation modelling and strong technical skills in analyzing and presenting data.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret modelling outputs and explain complex concepts clearly and succinctly.
- Good report writing skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to problem-solve, applying creative-thinking and methodical/logical approaches to propose solutions to complex issues.
