We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join our Technical Services team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our pharmacy staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our technical services.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate stock levels of medicines and consumables, ensuring timely replenishment and minimizing stockouts.
- Assist in the receipt and return of cleanroom clothing, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
- Support the Lead Pharmacy Technician and Senior Pharmacy Technician in Aseptic Services and Oncology, providing training and guidance to pharmacy assistants and technicians.
- Undertake cytotoxic reconstitution and dispensing, adhering to COSHH regulations and regional and national standards.
- Process and dispose of medicinal waste, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the maintenance of aseptic and chemotherapy units, ensuring cleanliness and sterility.
- Assemble ingredients for the production of chemotherapy and intravenous medicines, adhering to GMP and GDP guidelines.
- Train pharmacy assistants, domestic staff, and pharmacy technicians in cleaning and decontamination procedures.
- Perform in-process checks for aseptically prepared products, ensuring quality and safety.
- Dispense outsourced special medication, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
