Senior Pharmacy Assistant Technical Services Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join our Technical Services team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our pharmacy staff, ensuring the safe and effective preparation and dispensing of medicines.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate stock levels of medicines and consumables, ensuring timely replenishment and disposal of expired or recalled items.
- Support the Lead Pharmacy Technician and Senior Pharmacy Technician in Aseptic Services and Oncology, providing training and guidance to pharmacy assistants and technicians.
- Undertake cytotoxic reconstitution and dispensing in accordance with COSHH regulations and Regional and National standards.
- Process and dispose of medicinal waste, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance and quality control procedures, ensuring compliance with GMP and GDP guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to queries and concerns from pharmacy staff, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
- NVQ level 2 certificate in Pharmacy Services or equivalent qualification.
- Supervisory experience, with a proven track record of leading and managing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
