Key Responsibilities- Game Testing and Quality Assurance: Play and test games to identify linguistic bugs and report them using our bug database.
- Linguistic Accuracy and Cultural Relevance: Check in-game text for linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance, and ensure that it aligns with our company's professional standards.
- Process and Standards: Learn and follow our Universally Speaking LQA process and professional standards, which have been optimized over the years to be the best in the industry.
- Bug Reporting and Tracking: Use industry-standard bug databases to write detailed bug reports that demonstrate your attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ownership and Accountability: Take ownership of ensuring that bugs are fixed and implemented correctly, and become an expert in LQA across a broad range of projects.
- Test Case Management: Own, manage, create, and execute test cases throughout the project life cycle, including document testing practices, LQA process, and reporting methods.
- Collaboration and Communication: Actively participate in test requirement gathering with developers to ensure that Localisation QA effectively tests and supports all features of the project.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously look for ways to improve processes, take ownership of additional activities, and create efficiencies in your work.
- Expertise in Japanese: You must be an expert in Japanese language and culture.
- Proficiency in English: You must have proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Passion for Games: You must be passionate about video games and have a keen eye for detail.
- Team Player: You must be a team player with the ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines.
- Pro-Active and Enthusiastic: You must be pro-active, tenacious, and enthusiastic about your work.
- Quality Focus: You must have a focus on quality and a keen eye for detail.
- Technical Skills: You must have good working knowledge of MS Office Suite and be comfortable with computers.
- Right to Work in the UK: You must have the right to work in the UK.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience in LQA, translation, or proofreading is desirable.
- Software Tools: Experience with working with software tools in use for LQA testing (test case management and text editing tools) is desirable.
- CAT Tools: Working knowledge of CAT tools (MemoQ) is desirable.
- Video Game Industry: Knowledge of the video game industry and trends is desirable.
- Higher Education: A Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field is desirable but not essential.
