About the Role

Barker Associates is a leading property consultancy and trusted advisor, offering a range of services including architecture, project management, quantity surveying, engineering, and building surveying. We are seeking a Senior Civil Technician to join our team and work on a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the UK.

This role will be based at our Head Office in Braintree, with hybrid working arrangements once your induction is complete. As a Senior Civil Technician, you will be responsible for working on a range of civil engineering projects, from concept to completion, preparing calculations and technical design information to deliver innovative civil engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare preliminary civil engineering schemes for review by Line Manager
  • Produce detailed technical designs using AutoCAD/Civil 3D/Hydraulic Modelling
  • Review more detailed technical submissions and RFIs from sub-contractors
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a relevant degree or apprenticeship and a minimum of 5 years' working experience in civil engineering. You will also need a full clean driving licence and be subject to a DBS Enhanced check.
