Job Summary

HCLTech is seeking a highly skilled Cost Controller to join our team. As a Cost Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining project cost to complete budgets in alignment with as sold position and in coordination with budget holders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain Project Cost Budgets: Ensure project cost to complete budgets are accurately maintained and aligned with as sold position.
  • Support Forecast Estimation: Assist in the estimation of project costs and verify the accuracy of actual costs.
  • Align with Project Team: Collaborate with the project team to ensure forecasted cost risks are accurately captured and costs are time-phased.
  • Check and Control Cost Movements: Monitor and control cost movements, comparing them with current scope and progress, as well as previous forecasts.
  • Communicate Cost Status: Communicate cost status, forecasts, and risks to budget holders and drive risk mitigation and cost-out initiatives.
  • Present Financial Data: Present financial data in a transparent manner and attend project and management reviews to present cost status, budget deviations, and root causes.
  • Align with Finance Controller: Ensure reconciliation takes place between approved project financial data and books.
  • Align with Planner: Ensure costs and schedule are aligned, providing time-phased cost forecasts for sales pacing and reporting on cost movement root causes impacting sales targets.
Qualifications
  • Education: Degree qualified in finance or engineering with financial training.
Desired Knowledge and Experience
  • Extensive Cost Controlling Experience: Proven experience in cost controlling of turnkey projects.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrable experience of leading on large and complex infrastructure projects.
  • Project Finance Expertise: Deep understanding of project finance with expert knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Team Management: Experience managing small teams within a large project.
  • Risk Management: Understanding of risk management processes and tools.
  • Project Planning: Project planning experience with good P6 planning software understanding an advantage.
