About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Adria Solutions Ltd. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in expanding our client's data capabilities and supporting the launch of our new platform and mobile app.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Platform Management: Ensure the availability and performance of our central Data Platform to meet business needs.
  • Data Pipelines: Design and implement data pipelines to connect APIs, files, databases, and data streams to our client's Data Platforms.
  • Data Integration: Shape data from various sources into a transactional ODS for detailed reporting and a Kimball-modelled Data Warehouse for analytics and dashboards.
  • Data Quality: Define and embed data quality measures within data pipelines.
  • Data Integrity: Ensure data integrity, monitoring, and alerting are integrated into all solutions.
  • Build and Deployment: Create and manage Build and Deployment pipelines.
  • Data Lake Management: Enhance and support our archive Data Lake.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to translate requirements into solutions and ensure successful business outcomes.
  • Data Platform Design: Contribute to the overall design of the Data Platform.
  • Visualisation: Develop visualisations in Power BI.
  • Agile Workflow: Work in an Agile Kanban workflow to safely code, review, test, and deploy solutions using source control.
Required Skills and Experience
  • AWS Expertise: Implement data solutions in an AWS environment using native technologies and RDS (SQL Server) toolsets.
  • Transactional Reporting: Experience with transactional reporting solutions for critical business reporting.
  • Dimensional Modelling: Experience with dimensionally modelled databases for analytics use cases.
  • ETL Tools: Knowledge of ETL tools and approaches.
  • AWS Technologies: Hands-on experience with AWS technologies, including Lambda, SQS, Event Bridge, S3 & RDS.
  • Python Scripting: Experience with Python for scripting and automating data tasks.
  • CI/CD Approaches: Knowledge of CI/CD approaches for Data Platforms using Bitbucket and Bitbucket Pipelines.
  • AWS Data Lake: Knowledge of AWS data lake approaches using Athena & Apache Iceberg tables.
  • Visualisation Development: Exposure to visualisation development using Power BI.
  • MS SQL Server: Knowledge of MS SQL Server, SSIS, Visual Studio, and SSDT projects.
  • Relevant Sector Experience: Experience in a relevant sector is a plus.
  • Qualifications: Degree or equivalent qualification/experience in computer science, data science, or a related field.
