Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Workshop Manager to join our team at National Express Group PLC. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure that all engineering and vehicle maintenance is carried out to a high standard, both inside and outside of the workshop.
  • Health and Safety: Support management in achieving health, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Team Management: Provide support, direction, supervision, and coaching to all staff.
  • Communication: Liaise with colleagues and management to ensure accurate communication and effective problem-solving.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all inspections, servicing, and repairs are completed in accordance with company procedures and DVSA requirements.
  • Documentation: Review and authorise vehicle repair/maintenance documentation prior to releasing vehicles for operational service.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience in a bus/coach environment, with a strong understanding of the road passenger transport sector.
  • Qualifications: NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in HGV Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including out-of-hours and on-call shifts.
