About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to lead our team in delivering high-quality ecological services to our clients. As a Senior or Principal Ecologist, you will be responsible for managing projects, providing expert advice, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outputs.
  • Provide expert ecological advice to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Lead and conduct ecological surveys, assessments, and impact studies.
  • Develop and implement ecological strategies and mitigation measures.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, sharing your expertise and knowledge.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
Requirements
  • Degree-level qualification in Ecology or a related field.
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in ecological consultancy, with a proven track record in project management.
  • Experience in advising clients on Biodiversity Net Gain and the use of the DEFRA Statutory Biodiversity Metric.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Advanced knowledge of ecology and wildlife protection in the UK legislative and planning system.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional body.
