Position Overview

LA International Computer Consultants Ltd is seeking a Lead Cost Consultant to collaborate with a prominent client in the oil, gas, and energy sector.

This position involves occasional travel to various project sites.

Required Expertise:
Proficiency in Civil, Mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, access, insulation, and painting within the Industrial domain (including power, chemical, oil, gas, etc.).


Candidates should possess over 10 years of experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior cost management role on significant capital projects, ranging from several hundred million to over a billion pounds. A robust background in cost management, preferably from a client-side perspective, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
Support the client's Project Controls and potentially oversee Contract Management from a cost perspective, which includes:

  • Analyzing and scrutinizing the cost collection, reporting, and forecasting from EPC contractors.
  • Operating in environments where parties aim to safeguard their contractual interests.
  • Providing cost input for change management processes.
  • Negotiating rates and prices with contractors.
  • Reviewing cost and commercial submissions from contractors, offering guidance and advice to the client.
  • Determining the value of completed work, including processing valuations, applications, and invoices.
  • Ensuring adherence to the change management process by all involved parties.
