At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Senior Buyer, you'll play a crucial role in driving performance and value opportunities across various procurement projects.

The Role

As a Senior Buyer, you'll be responsible for several procurement projects, working closely with Programme and Project leads to identify value opportunities and levers. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supply Chain Design for packages of work
  • Supplier Relationship Management
  • Operational Excellence and reporting
  • Cross-functional communication within the programme

This is a full-time role with a hybrid schedule, requiring 1 day per week onsite at Ashchurch, with longer periods as needed. You may also be required to work at other sites.

Essential Experience

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Strong analytical skills to analyze data and make informed decisions
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and communicate complex requirements to/from the supply chain
  • Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business and suppliers
  • Self-motivation with a flexible approach to workload
  • Strong negotiation skills

Qualifications

While MCIPS is desirable, it's not essential. You'll need experience within a Supply Chain role, preferably in a Defence or Engineering environment.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role. Please note that many positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
