Job Description

Job Title: Residential Team Leader - Children's Home

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Residential Team Leader to join our team at Devon County Council. As a Residential Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading shifts, planning activities, and allocating staff to ensure the highest level of care and support for children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead shifts and plan activities to ensure the well-being and safety of children and young people
  • Allocate staff to ensure adequate coverage and support
  • Provide supervision and guidance to Residential Support Workers
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, young people, parents, and carers
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans and policies
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a residential care setting, preferably with children and young people
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and support staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, young people, and colleagues
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle
