Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Residential Support Worker to join our team at Corus Consultancy. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a caring and nurturing environment for children and young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Support and supervise junior home staff, ensuring they are equipped to meet the needs of the children and young people.
  • Work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people, including education and healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with and encourage school attendance, homework, and school liaison, as well as attending parent's meetings and PEPs.
  • Act as a positive role model and bring a therapeutic approach to dealing with children, regardless of age.
  • Ensure that each member of staff is aware of each child's care plan and their responsibilities for its implementation.
  • Attend childcare reviews and planning meetings to provide information and achieve best outcomes for young people.
  • Undertake direct work with young people and act as an appropriate role model.
  • Chair children's meetings and facilitate consultation with young people.
  • Act as an appropriate adult where necessary.
Requirements
  • Minimum NVQ level 3 in residential childcare and a minimum of 2 years' experience in working within a children's residential home.
  • Ability to work on a rota basis, including early morning and late evening shifts, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
  • Ability to drive company vehicles, subject to policies and procedures.
  • Clear Criminal Records Bureau check at all times.
  • DBS update service.
