Autism Unlimited is seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as an Autism Support Worker in Wareham.

We provide personalized care and support to individuals with autism, empowering them to live fulfilling lives within their communities.

About the Role

You will be working closely with Jack, a kind and engaging individual in his early 30s who enjoys a variety of activities, including long walks, trips to Paultons Park, musical theatre shows, quiet days at home watching films, listening to music, or reading.

Jack is non-verbal and primarily communicates using PECS boards. Your role will involve supporting him in utilizing these boards effectively, ensuring he has choice and control over his daily life.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized support tailored to Jack's needs and preferences, fostering his independence and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records of care plans, finances, appointments, and medication, ensuring clear documentation and communication.
  • Implement the established support plan while adapting it as needed based on Jack's changing behaviors or circumstances.
  • Assist with personal care tasks such as hygiene prompts, bathing, washing, and medication administration, always respecting his dignity and privacy.
