Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialist Mental Health Practitioner to join our esteemed team.

In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health assessments and evidence-based interventions to children and young people within our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). Your expertise in therapeutic approaches such as CBT and Family Therapy will be instrumental in supporting the well-being of our service users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify individual needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions, including CBT and Family Therapy, to address a range of mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, nurses, and psychologists, to ensure holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Adhere to all relevant legislation and ethical guidelines governing mental health practice.

Essential Requirements:

  • Professional registration with a recognized national body (HCPC, NMC, Social Work England).
  • Significant post-qualification experience working within a CYPMHS or Child Mental Health related field.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of specialist therapeutic approaches, including CBT and Family Therapy.
  • Experience in undertaking formal and informal clinical risk assessments and risk management planning.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Therapeutic training to intermediate/diploma level.
  • Experience of working within an NHS community CYPMHS setting.
  • Experience in providing clinical supervision.
